Your right to transfer

You're allowed to pass on a package holiday you can't use.

Most people don't realise it, but UK law is on your side. Under the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018, a traveller has a statutory right to transfer their package holiday to another eligible person, as long as the organiser gets reasonable notice (at least seven days before departure).

The right exists — what's been missing is a safe, trusted way to use it: to find a genuine buyer, protect the payment, and make sure the booking actually changes hands. That's what GetawayRelay is building.

Regulation 30 makes this right non-waivable — an organiser cannot simply contract it away.

Frequently asked questions

Can I legally sell or transfer my package holiday?
Yes. Under the UK Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018, you have a statutory right to transfer your package holiday to another eligible person, provided you give the organiser reasonable notice (at least seven days before departure is always reasonable). GetawayRelay helps you find a verified buyer and complete that transfer safely.
How much money can I recover from a holiday I can't use?
You set your own price. Instead of losing everything to a cancellation policy, you recover what a buyer will pay — usually at a discount to the original cost — less GetawayRelay's commission. Many non-refundable package holidays are otherwise a total write-off.
Is it safe? How do I know I'll be paid, or get a real holiday?
Every payment is held in escrow and only released to the seller once the organiser confirms the transfer is complete and the original traveller can no longer access, amend or cancel the booking. Buyers are protected until the transfer is verified.
What can be transferred on GetawayRelay?
We focus on package holidays that can lawfully be transferred to a new traveller. We verify transferability against the operator's terms before a holiday is listed, so buyers only ever see trips that can actually change hands.
How much does GetawayRelay cost?
Listing is free. GetawayRelay charges a commission only when your holiday sells — 20% of the sale price — which is materially less than other resale sites and includes escrow protection.
